BML COMMITMENT TO PRIVACY

At Bike Madrid Lisbon (BML), a brand of Portugal Nature Trails Corp., we understand the concerns about how your data may be stored, sent and used by companies. BML is committed to guaranteeing the security of your personal data stored with us.

BML also promise never to sell your information to anyone. We will not share your personal data with any third-party organizations that are not involved in the arrangements of your holiday.

BML recently updated the Privacy Policy to clarify how we protect your personal information, including the EU’s new guidelines for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  

This privacy policy tells you how BML collects and uses your personal information, the types of information BML collects, how BML collects it, what BML uses it for and who BML may share your personal information with. BML also lets you know what rights you have over your information.

WHAT INFORMATION DOES BML COLLECT ABOUT YOU?

BML does our best to keep the personal information collected from you to the minimum necessary. Here what personal details can be collected from you:

About you: Your first and last name, marital status, title, gender, e-mail address, telephone number, date of birth, meal and other travel preferences or dietary requirements. Sometimes data about your health if relevant – knowing your dietary requirements and any medical conditions you have will ensure that the trip is suitable for you and any necessary adjustments are made.

Special Requests: To provide an outstanding service to you, any special request is passed on to our team/guides to meet and exceed all of your expectations. Also, our guides may pass on information about special requests or preferences expressed by travelers while on a trip.

Payment: Details about payments to and from you and other details of the products and services you have purchased from us.

Identification: If you are traveling on a route requiring advance passenger information, your passport or identity card details including your passport number, the country in which your passport was issued and the expiry date.

About the booking: Details such as where you are flying from and to, your booking information (including anyone else on the booking), any onward travel details if relevant, details of experiences or excursions booked through us, baggage requirements, upgrade information, lounge visits, seat preferences, meal preferences or requirements, details of any special assistance required and any other relevant information that BML needs to arrange your trip.

Interactions with us: Information about interactions or conversations with us and our staff, including when you make inquiries, comments, complaints or submit feedback to us.

The site and social media: This can include how you use our site, app, social media pages, IP addresses and information you may post on social media. 

HOW AND WHY DOES BML COLLECT INFORMATION FROM YOU?

BML might collect information in the following ways when you:

  • Contact us by post, phone, email, social media or instant messenger

  • fill in a booking form on our site or enter information onto online forms

  • sign up to receive BML newsletters

  • participate in any of our copromotions (for example via any social media channels, email or our site), surveys or market research

  • provide us with information about an accident, illness or incident that occurred or some other feedback

WE use personal information only if have a proper reason to do it so such as:

  • to fulfill a contract BML have with you or

  • when it is in our legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interested or when you consent to it

HOW DO BML MIGHT USE YOUR INFORMATION FOR?

Description of all the ways BML plan to use your personal data:

  • BML will use your information to organize the tour or services that you request or purchase. This entails accommodations, organizing tours, transportation, services, meals, car hire and providing you with any special assistance you require (where you give us your consent).

  • If you complete any service satisfying survey, BML can use your data to study how customers use our services and their satisfaction with it.

  • BML can use your information to contact you in order to keep you up to date with the latest news, offers, promotions, and competitions that BML considers may be of interest or relevant to you.   • In certain circumstances, BML might use your information to ensure the security of our services, buildings, and people, including to protect against, investigate and deter fraud, unauthorized or illegal activities, systems testing, maintenance and development (on the basis of our legitimate interests to operate a safe and lawful business or where BML has a legal obligation to do so);

  • If you use our website or apps, BML can use your information and data analytics to optimize and improve our website, apps, products/services, marketing, customer relationships, and experiences.

  • To comply with legal obligations

BML does all these actions in order to fulfill our contract with you and on the basis of our interest in providing you with outstanding service.

 

WHAT ABOUT BML MARKETING?

We might send you a newsletter with our latest offers, sales, promotions that we think might be of interest/relevance to you.

We will contact you in this way if:

  • You have signed up to receive marketing communications from us (and have not later told us that you don’t want to hear from us)

  • You have made a booking with us and have not told us that you do not want to hear from us.

What if I don’t want to receive marketing?

  • BML never want to send our marketing to someone who isn’t interested in receiving this content. WHAT BML DOES NOT DO

We will NEVER pass your information to other parties

BML may use 3rd parties to send the communication to you on our behalf. As an example, BML uses a third-party provider, Mail Chimp to deliver our email marketing. However, these companies do not have the right to send marketing to you for their own purposes.

The marketing material BML send to you may occasionally include information about selected business partners who provide services closely related to our own product.

WHEN DO BML SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

We may share your personal information with third parties such as:

  • Third-party suppliers BML work with to provide your booking and our other services to you, such as travel agents, booking agents, airlines, hotels, tour operators, transport companies, excursion providers, airport authorities, insurance companies, car hire companies, ground handling agencies, and cruise companies. We use some external third parties based outside the EU so the processing of your personal data can involve a transfer of data outside the EU

  • Other suppliers that BML work with in connection with our business. BML shares your information with third-party suppliers that BML uses to provide services in connection with the experiences BML offer to you. This might include marketing agencies and/or companies that run our marketing campaigns, IT developers, service providers and hosting providers, third parties that manage promotions or competitions, third party software companies ground agents, site analytics providers, medical service providers, and credit card screening companies; We use some external third parties based outside the EU so the processing of your personal data can involve a transfer of data outside the EU

  • Airports, immigration/border control and/or other government authorities. BML will provide this information when BML is required to do so.

  • Credit references and fraud prevention agencies.

  • Courts or advisors. FOR HOW LONG DO BML KEEP YOUR DATA FOR?

BML will keep your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose BML collected it for, including for the purpose of satisfying any legal accounting or reporting requirements.

BML operate a data retention policy and look to find ways to reduce the amount of information BML hold and the length of time BML hold it for.

In some circumstances, BML may anonymize your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes in which case BML may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

BML website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins, and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. BML does not control these third-party websites and is not responsible for their privacy statements.

IP ADDRESSES AND COOKIES

BML might collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system, and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns only. For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalized service. They enable us:
